No, just a traction engine cruising on the highway on a Saturday afternoon. Not sure why and there was no support vehicles in sight. Had to stop and show the kids, it’s not something I’ve ever seen outside of an event or parade.

I’ve no idea but they were getting a ton of smiles per mile. It was bloody awesome too see, they gave the whistle a few toots for the kids. The guy steering it was working hard, lots of play in the front end.

Lots of water? Yes, you’ll need that.

Plenty of water! I really love the old steam technology. All those visable moving parts are so cool too see.

Nothing quite like using charcoal brickettes to power your ride and cook your dinner at the same time.

Yeah I know. Mustn’t be many steam powered vehicles registered in Vic. Wonder if it’s classed as an external combustion engine?

Man, that is so neat!
It must have been sort of loud, wasn’t it, with metal wheels running on the pavement?

It was awesome to see! The wheels actually had rubber strips on them, the front just wrapped around the circumference and the rear had the diagonal strips around it. There was a lot of mechanical noise as well as all the other associated steam sounds.
